Allison Porch

(She/Her)

Advanced Practicum Internist

Allison Porch joins Anesis Therapy from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater's Counselor Education Program. With a unique background that includes a bachelor's degree in professional writing and master's degrees in library and information science, Allison brings exceptional resource-finding abilities and a thoughtful approach to her counseling practice.

Allison's current thesis research explores the relationship between a therapist's personal relationships and the quality of their therapeutic relationships and client outcomes—reflecting her commitment to authentic connection in the healing process.

"Everybody needs a little help at one time or another, and sometimes talking to family or friends isn't enough," Allison shares. "As a counselor, I provide a space for you to express yourself fully and to explore the areas in which you are feeling stuck or in pain. Together, we will figure out ways for you to move through life's difficulties to create an authentic life you believe is worth living."

A recent transplant from Chicago, Allison continues to discover the unique charms of Madison life. Outside of her counseling work, she enjoys reading, video games, caring for her three cats and dog, traveling, cooking, and volunteering for women's organizations.

Drawing from her personal experience as a therapy client, Allison brings deep compassion and understanding to her practice, complemented by her exceptional ability to quickly identify helpful resources and interventions.
