Hillary Ashley
(She/Her)
Advanced Practicum Internist
Hillary Ashley joins Anesis Therapy from Edgewood University's Marriage and Family Therapy program at The Family Center. With a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, Hillary brings a deep appreciation for narrative and storytelling to her therapeutic approach, along with her Creating Safe Scenes training.
"Mental health treatment is for anyone, inclusive of diversity in any and every form," Hillary shares. "Therapy is a safe space of holding, acceptance, and healing. Everyone's journey is different, and every story deserves to be heard."
Hillary brings valuable lived experience to her role, including her personal journey with a postpartum psychiatric disorder, which informs her compassionate approach to supporting clients through challenging life transitions. Her two years as a co-leader for a 12-step group has provided her with unique insights into community-based healing and recovery processes.
With hands-on experience supporting families and children through her work in daycare settings, Hillary offers a holistic perspective on family dynamics and child development. She is especially passionate about integrating spirituality into therapy for clients who value this dimension in their healing journey.
When not engaged in her counseling work, Hillary enjoys reading, knitting and crocheting (she once knit five scarves in less than a month for Christmas gifts!), writing poetry, playing piano, and spending quality time with her family and their dog, Tucker.
Hillary's combination of professional training, personal experience, and creative interests allows her to create a warm, accepting therapeutic environment where clients can explore their stories and work toward meaningful change.
